Yesterday I went to the Downtown Denver Arts Festival with my dad. There were so many artists, there was definitely something for everyone. The festival had paintings, fountains, jewelry, clothes, some furniture, and a bunch of stuff that is just so odd it can’t be explained. Like I said, something for everyone.
My favorite artist was Kevin Zuckerman. He does abstract paintings and realist, figurative paintings. My favorite were the abstract ones. I love the way he uses bright colors and has them all across the canvas. The splash of color and the overlapping of it is breathtaking. His paintings were just gorgeous.
Although the festival is over now, I highly recommend it for next year. I think I’ll be going again!
It was such a lovely day too. The weather was pleasant and the sun was out, perfect day to go walking in downtown Denver. After we browsed the art, my dad and I stopped at HardRock Cafe and had some nachos. I have to say that their salsa was delicious and very impressive considering they aren’t a Mexican restaurant. Then we hopped on over to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for some dessert to take home. 🙂
In the evening my family and I met up with another childhood friend, Brittany. We ate at The Cheesecake Factory and got caught up on each others’ lives. I love catching up with lifelong friends, it’s so wonderful. We all had a great time and had great food. I had the vegetarian burger with sweet potato fries. I adore sweet potato fries and these were fantastic. Definitely recommend them. The veggie burger was good too but it fell apart really easily which was my only complaint.
And thus, dinner at The Cheesecake Factory ended my superb, extra long weekend. Thanks everyone for a great few days!
