I know I said I would update you guys after one month of being off my acne medication but I didn’t. I decided I wouldn’t partly because I figured two months would be a better gauge as to if the medicine actually worked.
I am happy to say that my face is still mostly acne free. I do get the occasional pimple but the ones I get now are very tiny and barely noticeable. Below are pictures I took today after I showered so you can get an accurate idea of what I look like.
I still have some scars, however they have begun to fade. And my awesome friend Katie surprised me with Bio oil, a moisturizer that is supposed to help create even-toned skin and reduce scarring. I had put it on my Amazon wishlist and she bought it for me! How cool is that?! So I’m starting to use that now which will help with my scars even more!
For those who may be interested, my face regime is the following. I wash my face once or twice a day (depending on if I shower or not). I was with regular soap, nothing special. I put on CeraVe moisturizer twice a day and Bio oil once a day. I use Clean and Clear advantage acne spot treatment for pimples and for areas of my skin that I think are susceptible to acne.
So, in the end, I am still glad I took the risk and took Isotretinoin for 6 months. It may not be for everyone, but it was for me.
