I FINALLY beat the game Portal!
I originally started playing it a few years ago but failed to get far and quit for some reason or another.
Then I started it over again about a year ago. This time I got much further, but stopped, yet again, who knows why (most likely utter frustration and despair).
So this time around, I was determined to actually finish it.
For those of you who don’t know, I’m not that fantastic at video games. Something in my brain wasn’t turned on when I was born and certain games and puzzles confuse the heck out of me. Thus, it takes me a long time to beat a game. This means that I haven’t beaten many video games in my lifetime. I can only think of four (excluding Portal).
So beating Portal was a personal life goal of mine (sounds cheesy, but it’s true).
This time around I did a lot better (since I had already played more than half of it). I understood the game dynamics a lot better. I still got really frustrated and angry and had to quit a couple of times before I turned into Hulk but I did it!
I beat the game earlier today. And how do I feel? I feel proud and happy. It was a great thinking game. The story-line was very interesting as well. I think I’m going to have to play Portal II at some point.
Portal, I beat you, I got my cake and that’s all that matters. Whether I actually “beat” you or not doesn’t matter. Because I HAVE MY CAKE. Yum.
