Day 26. OXO Containers

2013-08-10 10.11.22I was making waffles this morning when I thought about how much I like my flour container. Look how an entire 1 cup can fit it in, no problem!

I am a huge fan of OXO containers. For a long time I had been looking for some kind of container to put my baking ingredients in. I get a little messy when I use flour, it ends up going all over the place, so I needed something that would help me maintain that mess.

The OXO containers are perfect for me. I’m sure there are lots of other great containers out there that would be just as good but I really like how these close. I feel like these keep out the air better than other brands. I also like how large the opening is in my flour container. I can spoon the flour into a 1 cup measuring cup without it spilling all over the counter, which is what used to happen. It’s just such a joy that my mess is now reduced!

OXO containers come in so many different sizes, which is fantastic. In the picture, you can see that I have another container full of walnuts. I keep rice, sugar, and pasta in OXO containers as well.

The downside to these containers is that they are not supposed to go in the dishwasher. Thankfully, most of the food items I put in these containers will most likely always be there, so I won’t need to wash very often.

Just wanted to share how much I like these in case you are ever in the need of some bulk food storage. You can get these at Target, Amazon.com, and other stores like T.J. Maxx. They are a tiny bit pricey, in my opinion, but I haven’t had any problems with them for the months I’ve had them so I think they are worth it.
