Every once in a while I want to try something new for my lunch. I happened upon an idea for a sushi sandwich. I thought that was so interesting so I decided to give it a try today!
It’s so easy to make, takes just a bit of time, and is quite good. It took me maybe 10 or 15 minutes today to make it, but since it was my first time I was a bit slow. I think I could get it down to 5, maybe 10 minutes, each time.
The sushi is so cute and it actually did fairly well after a few hours in the fridge.
This was the first time I have ever made any kind of sushi. I though it was a lot of fun and maybe one day I’ll make actual sushi. It was a bit difficult to keep the bread together once rolled. A little bit of mayo, as suggested in the above link, did help, but I wish my bread was a bit wider. I might have overstuffed it a bit too.
I thought these sushi rolls were really good. I had them with some chips and dried mango for lunch and it was quite satisfying. I will definitely make these again. The bit of cucumber was perfect. I’m not sure if I could really taste the carrots though, I think next time I’ll try doing them in thin slices as well and see how that goes!
