Day 64. I love Korra!

I watched Avatar: The Last Airbender later in my life, after the show had already finished. I fell in love with the characters, the story, and the animation style. So when it was over I was very sad. Years later, this new show, The Legend of Korra, came out. I watched two episodes and hated it. It wasn’t like The Last Airbender at all. The Avatar was a girl and I didn’t like her personality. I decided I would not watch any more episodes.

Fast forward to months ago. I started rewatching The Last Airbender. Before I finished, Gene mentioned to me that I should give Korra a second chance. I wasn’t positive I wanted to, but I really didn’t want the Avatar world to end, so I changed my mind and went for it. These past two weeks I have watched the first season of The Legend of Korra. My opinions on the show and the characters have almost done a 180. I am quickly becoming attached to the characters, although I’m still not in love with them as much as I am with Aang and his gang. The story line is interesting and updated. The animation style is just as great. The bending that these characters does sends chills down my spine.

I’m happy to say that I like Korra’s show. She probably won’t be able to take the place of Aang, but that’s okay. These shows are similar, but different. I don’t want to compare them. I don’t think I could.

Point is, if you’re reading this, you should watch Avatar: The Last Airbender and then watch The Legend of Korra. They’re great shows, and we need more like these so give them your support!

And the second season of Korra has just started so isn’t that fantastic timing?! 😉
