Day 141. Christmas decorations: complete

2013-12-01 19.31.41This past weekend I decorated the apartment for Christmas. Gene put on some Christmas music and I set everything up. I kept asking him if he wanted to help but he never got around to it. Probably better anyway because I can have everything exactly the way I want it. He did tell me the tree looked nice and helped me determine where to put some lights so he did help in the end, just not with putting up the tree or the ornaments.

2013-12-01 19.31.30I bought a few new things at the Dollar Tree this year to help add to the tree and I have to say, even though there are still huge gaps in it, it does look really nice. I’m staring at it now and it brings a smile to my face. For my first Christmas tree, it’s a success. It might even look nicer than it did last year, who knows. There’s still a few more ornaments I’m going to put on too.

I have some (fake) presents under the tree already too! This is such a nice season. I’m not sure if I’ll get around to making a Christmas wreath but it’s on my list of things to do by next year for sure. I figure I can add a few Christmas items every year until I have boxes and boxes of Christmas decorations! 😉 Okay, maybe not boxes and boxes, but at least three boxes. That should be good, right?!

One of my favorite ornaments: a painting that Lydia did.

  1. sigh, beautiful! really brightens up that corner nicely! thanks for liking my little painting! You know, I’ve got three or four boxes of tree ornaments, and my plan is for you and Gene to inherit half of them some day! =0) I’m sure he’ll let you put them all on the tree all by yourself, just the way you want them — in that way, he’s like his father. =0)

    1. Cool! I would love some more ornaments one day. Gene can always watch as I put them up, or even hand them to me perhaps. 🙂
