(Today I am in Dürnstein and Melk. I will visit a 900 year old abbey!)

  • 98% of the population speaks German¹
  • Sigmund Freud was born in the Austrian Empire in 1856. Without him, we may never have heard of the Oedipus complex, Id, Ego, or Super-ego. ¹

  • Franz Kofka was born in the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1883. In 1912 he wrote The Metamorphosis.²
  • The Alps pass through Austria. They are approximately 700 miles long. the highest point in Austria is the Grossglockner which is 12,460 feet. ²
