Today was such a beautiful day that Gene and I could not help but go on a hike. This time we went to Matthews/Winters Park.
With the Broncos game on today I thought that the trail might be less busy but boy was I wrong. This was one of the most crowded trails I’ve been on. There were lots of little kids, dogs, and mountain bikers. This made our hike less enjoyable but at least we did have moments where we couldn’t see anyone. That’s what we get for going to a place near Red Rocks and Dinosaur Ridge.
At least half of the trail was covered in either mud or ice. Most of it was okay walking over but there was one steep incline that was hard to get up and down. Everyone was sliding around.
There were some decent views of Denver and the surrounding area. It was windy but generally we were in the sun so it wasn’t too bad. It was nice to get out of the house and to go on a hike. And in January no less! Thanks Colorado for being awesome!
