Day 228. My 1,000th post!

celebrateThis post is my 1,000th post! I think that’s cause to celebrate!

I’m not sure if WordPress is counting all the posts I made on Vox (where my original blog was) and transferred over or if they’re just counting the posts I made here but either way it’s cool.

My first post ever was on October 8th, 2007 and it was very boring. I feel like over these past 6 years I’ve really improved my writing style. Generally, I feel like I have a fairly solid writing voice and I’ve gotten so much better at stretching a small story into a full blog post. I find myself now writing blog posts in my head as events happen to me. I’m not sure that’s always a good thing but it makes me feel like a true writer.

I’m a bit surprised that it’s taken me over 6 years to reach 1,000 posts but there were spans of time where I rarely posted so that makes sense.

Well, here I am, still going strong. That’s pretty awesome!

I’m so thankful for this blog and for the people who read it. Even if, in the end, I’m really only posting to myself, I will be happy.

These posts are my life story. They record my happiest and sometimes saddest moments. They represent pieces of me. And that’s all they need to be. They don’t always need to be amazing or interesting, because life isn’t always like that, I’m not always like that. They just have to be authentic and I will have done my job.

So here’s to another 1,000 posts and another 6 years of love, new experiences, and adventure!

  1. You will NEVER be the only one reading your blog – not as long as you have a mother! šŸ™‚ I love your writing voice. It always comes across as very authentic. Writing runs in the family, you know. It makes me so happy to be included in your life by reading your daily snippets. Who wouldn’t want to read your blog???
