Day 238. First day at new job

Today I ended up going to my new job!

I only stayed for about 5 hours but I think it was a great start. Although there was a lot of information thrown at me and spoken around me, I still believe this was the right choice for me. I have a feeling this job is going to be challenging and awesome. There’s going to be new projects and goals throughout the year, which is what I would like. Plus, I get holidays!

I cannot state my happiness over that fact enough. So I don’t get paid for all the days I have off, I still have them off! My gosh, I haven’t had that since school, which, granted, was only 3 years ago, but still!

So my first day went well. I listened in on a meeting and tried to take notes in order to understand what was going on. I got a tour of a couple of places that I will be working in and with. I met lots of people and got to become a bit more familiar with my new manager. And then I left after lunch and took my paperwork to HR in downtown.

Now a few more items to mark off and I’ll soon be settled in. I’m going to have my own laptop for work! How cool is that? I’ve never had that before. It may not be as exciting as I think it is, but the fact that they think I’m important enough to have one is awesome.

Yes, I think this job is really going to work out. 🙂

  1. So proud of you! So happy for you! Most people never do anything about jobs they don’t like or feel are dead ends. They spend their entire lives working at jobs that leave them feeling empty, bored, stressed or worse. Yay for you for having the gumption to do something! For stepping out and facing the fear and discomfort of change in order to have a better and fulfilled life. That’s my girl!!!
