Day 297. Meet Pippin

2014-05-07 21.22.08Meet my new kitten, Pippin! I was between the name Fitz (a character in Marvel’s Agents of Shield TV show) and Pippin (from Lord of the Rings). Originally I went with Fitz, but I think Pippin fits him much better.

I feel like he’s adjusting really well. At first I  kept him in the bedroom, as suggested, but somehow ended up opening the door and he wandered all around for the evening. At one point he was so tuckered out that he fell asleep in between the couch cushions. He was so adorable. I just wish he had fallen asleep when Gene and I actually went to bed.

2014-05-07 21.21.59He slept in our bedroom last night. Well, I say “slept” but it was more like walking all over our heads and bodies every hour. I’m  hoping that he just did that because he was in a new environment, and that habit will soon disappear. But either way, he won’t be sleeping our bedroom for very much longer.

He meows a lot. Anytime he wants attention or is just bored, he meows. I’m not sure if it’s normal or not, but I have a feeling he’s going to be a very talkative cat. He also purs a lot. It’s almost a constant thing when we play or I love on him.

I’m afraid I don’t have any great pictures of him yet. He’s a fast one, that’s for sure. He’s black all over except for a patch on his belly and a few white strands on his back. He’s tiny and cute and an oddball. I think  I’m gonna like him!

  1. His meowing is just like a babies cries, it’ll slowly fade with age… unless you baby him like we do Pluto, she’s extremely talkative. Hello always be a bit of a night owl because he’s a cat, but when you and gene have a few weeks of normal routine his sleep schedule will change to sleeping while you’re gone, playing a lot in the evening and sleeping most of the night 🙂 he’s adorable I can’t wait to meet him! Is he neutered? If not get on that, because boy kittens have a tendency to have problems with spraying if you wait too long. 🙂

    1. Good to know. I’ll have to get better at ignoring him when he cries so he doesn’t make it a habit of it. I plan on playing with him when I get home from work and before we go to bed so hopefully that’ll help with the routine. Come visit us so he can meet him!
