Day 334. Breakfast with Dad

This morning I dropped Gene off in the Denver Tech Center to attend a computer programming seminar. Because I was so close to my parents, my dad and I went out for breakfast together! I’m so glad he was willing to get up early on a Saturday to hang out with me. We ended up going to The Original Pancake House, a place that neither one of us had been to before. A friend had recommended it and man was it a fantastic recommendation. I ended up getting cinnamon almond french toast. It was french toast with slivers of almonds packed on top and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. Add some butter and syrup and my gosh was it filling and delicious. There were menu was quite large with options including omelettes, waffles, pancakes, french toast, and assorted sides. We ordered a liter of fresh squeezed orange juice which was such a nice treat. I haven’t had fresh squeezed juice in years.

I had a great time, it was a wonderful way to spend my morning. Since my parents are moving to Colorado Springs soon, it’s nice to be able to see them as often as I can. Although we’ll still see each other, the amount will most likely lessen because of the distance. I must say though, I am looking forward to getting to go to the Garden of the Gods when I’m over there, and we’ll have to visit Pike’s Peak too, so maybe I’ll see them more than I thought! 🙂

I ended up taking Pippin over to my parents’ apartment while we were out too. It let Pippin experience being in the car again and going to a semi-new place. He still got tuckered out after the visit but didn’t sleep as long as last time! Go Pippin!

So this morning was lovely being able to hang out with my parents and my cat. And tomorrow we’re all going out for lunch so that will be fun too!
