Today was Administrative Professionals Day. For a treat I stopped at City Bakery Cafe on the way to work to pick up some goodies. It was the first time I had been there during breakfast so I was impressed when I saw all the pastries sitting behind the counter. I got a little overwhelmed with all the choices so I purchased a loaf of banana oat bread to share and a blueberry scone for myself. I’ll definitely have to go back to try their chocolate filled croissants, muffins, and other items. The bread was delicious and I shared it with all my coworkers. Many of them commented how it tasted like homemade bread, which, to me, is a great sign as homemade food is usually always better than restaurant food. Nice to know that City Bakery Cafe’s breakfast foods are just as good as their lunch foods.
When I got to my desk I was surprised with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and two different gift cards. Two of my managers (the other two are out of town) sneaked into the office early and left me presents! My coworker also got me Milano cookies and another teammate came over later in the morning and gave me magnets, chocolate, and a really neat card. In the afternoon I got a gift card to the cafe in our building as well as a plant and gift card from the Assistant Superintendent.
Towards the end of my day I received an email from an assistant principal wishing me a happy day, it was really sweet.
Needless to say I felt very blessed and lucky today.
