Just Lauren

Gene and I are married! We got hitched last Saturday over dinner at Kaitlin’s house. Both our families were present and it was truly a wonderful time. Kaitlin’s friend Charity came over and took pictures for us so I don’t have many to share at this point. I’m glad she came though because I didn’t worry about taking pictures at all.

The evening was splendid. The backyard was set up so nicely, kudos to Kaitlin and my mom who did the majority of the work. And kudos to my dad for buying it all! There was a white tent with lights, the table had gorgeous flowers down its center, and there was even a little menu on the food table. Our rice krispie treat cake was on Kaitlin’s wedding cake stand and my parents got us a custom cake topper that said “Make it so”! What was really awesome was that they had also written “Marriage: The Final Frontier” under the cake. So perfect.

We had plenty of good food and drink – Garbanzo’s Mediterranean and Chick-fil-A lemonade (There was also wine) – and the weather held out perfectly for us. But the company was the best part. I loved just having our family there, it made getting married really special to me. I thought about what it would have felt like to walk down an aisle in front of a lot of people and didn’t regret our decision at all. It was exactly what I wanted and I truly could not be happier. I barely lifted a finger the entire night. We ended the evening by roasting marshmallows over a fire. How could I ask for more?! 

I’m really excited to see the pictures whenever we get them, I saw a few of them on the camera and they looked great. I will share them as soon as I have them.
