Gene, Elisabeth and I are going to Wyoming! We’re going to see the full solar eclipse on the 21st. Gene reserved us a camping spot (I was late to the game so all hotels are booked) right in Casper, WY, in the direct path of the full eclipse. I’m excited, I’ve never seen one before and the next one visible in the U.S. will be in 99 years. Good thing that Elisabeth’s parents just brought her a tent, the one we have only fits 2 people. I think the tentative plan is to go up on Saturday and come back on Monday. We think there is the potential it’s going to be a very crazy time as lots of people will be filling a small area, so this leads itself to possibility for a lot of fun. I picked up solar glasses from the Nature and Science Museum so I’m ready!
I don’t know where you got this 99 years thing from. Like, for example, there’s this one coming up. https://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/SEplot/SEplot2001/SE2024Apr08T.GIF It’s going to have a totality that lasts twice as long, too.
