Spatula!

Monday was my department’s Peach Bake Off. A few of us are trying to bring more fun into the year so we set up this contest that was very loosely based off of The Great British Bake Off. We got aprons for our judges to wear and purchased personalized spatulas as prizes. We had our judges taste each dish, without knowing who baked what, and give ratings on presentation and taste. Top rating in each category got a spatula.

I ended up making homemade vanilla ice cream to go along with Brenda’s peach cobbler. The combination was delicious and ended up being my favorite dish. In the end, our new boss got first for both presentation and taste. She made a peach and tomato salad, it was quite interesting and tasty. She was thrilled. Brenda and I got second place for taste so we ended up getting a spatula since our boss didn’t need two. So now I am the proud owner of a new spatula, it’s pretty great.
