Meals, movies, and D&D

This past weekend was a good one – with the colder and drearier weather it felt like the holidays to me even though we’re months out from them. It put me in a nice mood. On Saturday we did our meal prep thing – took us a bit of time and I messed up one of our recipes by not reading the directions I wrote (oops) but everything ended just fine. We made meatballs this time around, using a recipe I found on allrecipes, and they turned out way better than I thought they would. I’m quite pleased.

In the evening we went to the Alamo Drafthouse, that fancier movie theater in Littleton. We went as part of the Can’t Stop the Serenity event where they show the movie, Serenity, raffle off prizes, and have a costume contest. It was pretty fun, I enjoyed myself.

On Sunday I did a bit of shopping and finally bought myself a new pair of slippers – it was high time. My old ones were from almost 2 years ago and although they still did the job for the most part, all the softness was gone. Now I have fluffy slippers once again! I bought Gene some slippers too because I know he was jealous of my awesome ones. 😀

Sunday afternoon we played Dungeons and Dragons and…we KILLED a god! That’s right, Elisabeth, Gene, and I, along with two companions, fought hard, almost died, and killed a god. I even turned Elisabeth into a giant ape! It was great. I also recently got the D&D adventure book that I had purchased so now I am preparing to run my own campaign. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun and I’ll probably be sharing snippets of the adventures once we start.
