My job at DPS is ending as of this Friday. Did I ever officially say that? I got laid off in February and decided to not apply to other jobs in the district and instead go to community college in August to get an associate’s degree in horticulture. Life is changing! It’s been scary but exciting and I still don’t think it’s fully hit me yet. I started packing up my office desk and bringing stuff home. My lovely tetris lamp is now back in the house and sitting on my desk. Isn’t it gorgeous and peaceful? It looks absolutely mesmerizing when it’s on and it’s relatively dark. I’m so grateful that Lydia bought it as a gift for me long long ago.

For dinner, the household and I went to Del Taco to try out their new Impossible meat tacos. Elisabeth found us coupons for a free taco each so I jumped at the chance to try another restaurant’s version of the meat. So…I like actual meat better in tacos. The Impossible meat was okay, it tasted fine but not as good as beef or chicken. I so badly want there to be a fake meat that tastes as good as real meat, then I’d switch over instantly. But we’re not quite there yet. Still, I’m marking this as a really great start. Recently I tried some nasty fake hot dogs so if I can eat an entire fake taco, I’m chalking it up as a win. And it’s a fantastic option for vegetarians and vegans.
Last night I let Pippin sleep in my bed, mostly because I didn’t realize he was in the room when I shut the door for the night (oops) and this morning he was so completely adorable. Look at this picture that Gene took of him! Is this not the cutest picture of him of all time??! I am in love.
