Yesterday was such a whirlwind of a day, I didn’t have very much time at home. Elisabeth and I went to a knife skills class in the morning where I learned how to hold a knife and chop all sorts of things. I also learned that the majority of our knives at home are not sharp at all, what a difference a sharp knife makes. It was a lot of fun and we came out of it with soup, fruit salad, coleslaw, and a truly delicious pastry. We should be getting the recipes at some point and I’m pretty sure we’ll make the coleslaw and pastry again.

After the class I headed over to Brittany’s place where I hung out for a a couple of hours and cross stitched. I’m so close to finishing my current piece, I bet I can get it done by the weekend. It was nice spending some one on one time with her, we’ve grown closer to each other since both of us separated from our partners. Building relationships, yo. I also FINALLY got to video chat with Katie. Turns out it had been over a month and a half since we last talked, holidays are brutal for that kind of thing. But we keep trying and we’ll hopefully pick up talking more frequently again.

I then went to dinner with my other friend, Meseret, because I wanted to see her one last time before she heads back to Arizona. We ate some Greek food and I got to hear all about her work as a professor, it’s truly fascinating. She only teaches once a week and works on articles and papers the rest of the week. It’s a lifestyle I’m not familiar with so I loved learning about it.

So my day was really busy but full of love and awesomeness. Hello 2020! (I’m just gonna keep saying stuff like that.)
