The past two days have been busy for me. Because I’m still going to the doctor every Friday, I’ve been either going in early to work or staying late every day so I don’t have to use as much PTO, so that takes up more of my day. I don’t mind it too much, surprisingly, but it does mean I have less time at home.
Yesterday I went to my very first painting class! We introduced ourselves, learned about what the class is going to be like, and went over materials list. The class is going to be different than I expected – I’m not sure we’re going to do that much painting, to be honest. It is more of a learn to draw and learn art concepts kind of class. And while that’s not what I thought it would be, I’m looking forward to it. I will hopefully learn some basic skills that will allow me to paint and draw outside of a classroom.
Today I met up with Elisabeth after work and we went to her company’s holiday party. I got decent free food, got to people watch, and got to meet a lot of Elisabeth’s coworkers. They all love her, as they should. The party was at the Club Lexus within the Pepsi Center and I felt very privileged getting to hang out in a space I would never be invited to nor spend the money to enter. I’ll probably never be back there. I felt a little under dressed at times as these gorgeous women walked past me in fancy dresses and outfits, but Elisabeth made me feel better and I enjoyed myself when we took pictures at the photo booth.
Tomorrow is an evening off for me before I go tot he doctor’s again on Friday and possibly have a judge tell me I’m officially divorced. It’s going to be an odd day and possibly odd weekend but I’m planning some fun times for myself to get through it. As Elisabeth reminded me tonight, I am a very strong person and I can get through anything! She is quite right. 🙂
