On Saturday, Brittany met me at Native Foods for lunch. We sat outside in the 90 degree weather and ate our delicious food. I drank all of my water. That was a bit of a surprise, but it really was exceptionally hot. Well, not “exceptionally” I suppose, since it’s been in the 90s for weeks now. My legs were literally sweating on the seat. What can I say, I’m just that hot? 😉 It was lovely seeing Brittany and she even wore a beautiful dress specifically for me. 🙂 What a wonderful friend who would dress up to see me. I feel so special. Her new boyfriend even bought me a gift and had her deliver it to me. I am now the proud owner of the patch you see to your left. Brittany saw it when the two of them went to a hearse convention (yes, that’s a real thing) and she said, “Lauren loves dinosaurs,” and henceforth her boyfriend took hold of the patch and bought it for me. I thought it was incredibly sweet, especially since he’s never met me. Is he trying to get brownie points from me? Well, it may or may not be working. And while I don’t really get high, I definitely support the discussing of dinosaurs.

On Sunday, my friends and I went to Cherry Creek Reservoir for the entire day where we lounged on the beach, chilled in the water, and did a bit of paddle boarding. That’s right, I went out on a paddle board for the first time. I wasn’t planning on it, because I figured I wouldn’t be very well balanced, but my friend, Mel, convinced me, and she was so patient and kind when helping me figure out what to do that I felt fairly relaxed while paddling around. I had a fantastic time overall. Shari brought homemade energy bars, Mel brought chips and guacamole, Stephanie brought water (many thanks to her for that), and I brought fruit salad and Pringles. It was fairly smoky because of all the fires but we made it work and I’m so terribly glad I had that day with my friends.
