9-14-20 My weekend

I had another pleasant weekend. Shari and I made brunch together on Saturday – banana muffins and tofu scrambled “eggs”. She also brought over homemade blueberry lemon muffins she had baked the previous day. It was kind of a breakfast feast and it was all delicious. I had never made tofu scrambled eggs before so I wasn’t quite sure what I was doing, but overall they turned out great. Did I measure any of the spices I put in? Nope. Did I put in too much fake cheese? Maybe. But I still liked it and ate most of it ’cause neither Elisabeth nor Shari loved it (which is okay, tofu eggs is not for everyone).

Saturday evening I went to a birthday party for my friend, Robyn. I got to meet another Lauren, who was also really cool (just like me 🙂 ) and I got to eat a tasty, what I assume was vegan, taco I made myself. I didn’t ask what was in the rice or beans. /shrug. Sometimes ya gotta be flexible. I also did a decent job at socializing with people I didn’t know and so I left the party feeling happy, but also tired. I am now known as Lauren T-rex. I’ll take it. 😀

Sunday morning, Elisabeth and I met up with our meetup friends at the park for a comic discussion. We ended up talking about many other things besides comics, as we seem to do these days, but it was still very enjoyable. Afterward, Shari, Elisabeth, and I went to St. Mark’s Coffee to get our last clue for the scavenger hunt! We’re pretty sure we know where we need to go next weekend.

The rest of the day was spent relaxing and finally finishing Shari’s book she wrote and let me read so long ago! I was very pleased with the ending, but even more pleased with the relationship between the two main characters. I’m not a fan usually of long, drawn out conflict between romantic partners in books and so the way Shari laid it all out made me very happy.

This afternoon I drove Elisabeth to Costco so she could teach me how to use the self-serve air for my car tires. I couldn’t quite figure it out the last time I went by myself. Thankfully, Elisabeth is a pro and my tires are inflated as they should be. I have decided to take a risk and travel to my friend, Brenda, in Grand Junction this upcoming weekend and I wanted my tires to be good. I’ve been going back and forth on the trip because of covid, but taking this small vacation is going to be worth the risk I think. And then I won’t risk this kind of thing again until we have a vaccine (please let us have a vaccine soon, please).

In less than an hour I’m going to video chat with Kaitlin and Edward and so my time between now and then will be working on adding more songs to my car playlist for my upcoming four hour drive. Have any suggestions, send them my way!
