I GOT MY FIRST VACCINE SHOT.
It felt so surreal. I had such a huge grin on my face as I drove into my parking spot to sit for 15 minutes to make sure I was ok. I couldn’t stop smiling. This shot means freedom to me and it means a light at the end of the tunnel. Yes, there have been many happy moments over the past 365 plus days, but there has also been a lot of isolation and that has affected me.
I am one step closer to eating INSIDE a restaurant. To visiting a museum. To seeing my friends in their homes without masks on! I know things will change back gradually, and I’m okay with that. I’m just happy that they’re going to change back at all.
Elisabeth also got her first shot yesterday too, although at a different location. She got hers in a grocery store so I asked her to buy us some flowers while she was there to celebrate that we both were on the road to immunity. She picked up these really lovely peachy and yellow tulips. What a great bunch of flowers to set at our table.
Earlier this week, I built the Lego triceratops that my parents got me. While I’m not quite ready to start any major Lego projects like this Discovery space shuttle my dad linked me, I have so enjoyed the two kits I received. Elisabeth had the great idea of buying a bunch of Legos and having a theme once a week where we just play around. We could even follow the themes that the Lego Masters show has. So I’ll probably be buying myself some Legos in the near future. Anyway, I fell in love with my triceratops instantly and have named her Ergi. My plan is to take pictures of her doing things for no other reason than I think it will be fun. So, you can see her next to Pippin above right after I made her and you can see her loving the tulips as much as me to the left. I’m excited to see what other activities she gets up to!
