Also known as Muddy Buddies, this chocolate, peanut butter cereal dessert is so easy to make and quite addictive. While I prefer it with Crispix, that cereal has been very hard to find over the past couple of years so use what you can find – whatever brand of Chex you like. I like to eat these with chopsticks, keeps my fingers cleaner.
INGREDIENTS
- 6 cups Crispix cereal (or Chex)
- 8 oz semi sweet chocolate chips (or 1 package)
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- About 2/3 – 3/4 cup powdered sugar (really it’s however much you want)
DIRECTIONS
- In a large microwave safe bowl, melt chocolate for 30 seconds. Stir.
- Heat in additional 20-30 second intervals, stirring in between, until melted.
- Stir in peanut butter.
- Add Crispix and gently fold and mix until evenly coated.
- Put about ⅓ cup of powdered sugar in a gallon bag.
- Add cereal mixture to bag & add another ⅓ cup of sugar on top.
- Seal bag and gently shake to evenly coat cereal. Add more powdered sugar as needed to coat to your liking.
Serves: I could eat the whole thing by myself so I’m not a great judge, maybe 3-4 people who only have mild sweet tooths?
Leftovers: Keeps well but it’s so tasty that it won’t last long.
So good and Crispix is the best.
A family fave! Yummy!
